Birthdays are moments of joy and everyone deserves to feel special. Join our birthday program volunteers and bring magic to our elderly friends on their big day. A few weeks before each month, we'll send out a list of upcoming birthdays. Choose the dates that suit you best and let us know which elder you'd like to visit. Confirm by email and on the big day, pick up their birthday bag and cake. Then comes the best part – deliver the goodies and spend some quality time celebrating with our elder friends. It's a heartwarming way to brighten someone's day!

Help us create an unforgettable first impression at our special event by volunteering as a greeter! Your warm welcome will set the tone for an incredible evening.

What You'll Do:
✨ Welcome Guests: Greet attendees with a smile and ensure they feel appreciated and excited. You may also help them up steps and into the building!

Check In: Volunteers will also assist with checking our guests in at a check in table as guests arrive!

Ready to dive into the action? Join us for an evening filled with excitement, games, and celebration while making a difference!

Volunteers will help with our silent auction, live auction, and raffle basket pulls! We will go over everything upon arrival, so all of your questions will be answered then! 

Calling all Space Transformers!!! Help us create an unforgettable evening for our community! We’re seeking energetic and detail-oriented volunteers to bring our event to life.

What You'll Do: Help set up and decorate Willow Event Center! Volunteers will assist with helping to bring in auction items and raffle baskets, decorations, and making sure that the space is ready for our guests!

Ready to dive into the action? Join us for an evening filled with excitement, games, and celebration while making a difference!

Volunteers will assist with the "wine pull" game as well as be a runner for the elderly friends that are joining us! We may have you make them a plate, help them to the bathroom, or anything else they may need!

Join us for Movie Night with a Friend!

Experience the joy of giving back by escorting an elderly friend to our quarterly movie night at LBFE. As a volunteer, you'll pick up your elderly friend and ensure they arrive by 6:00 p.m. for a 6:30 p.m. movie start. After the film, share your thoughts and enjoy a friendly chat on the way home. Whether you stay or drop off, your time and companionship make a meaningful difference. Come make memories and connections that last a lifetime!

Discover Creativity at Art Group with a Friend!

Unleash the power of art and friendship by volunteering to drive an elderly friend to our monthly Art Group at LBFE. Every first Tuesday of the month, you'll help them immerse themselves in creativity, camaraderie, and community.

Whether you prefer to drop off and pick up or stay and participate, your support means the world. And rest assured, all transporting volunteers are protected under LBFE's umbrella insurance policy. Celebrate Independence Day by spreading some holiday cheer! Volunteers will help deliver hot picnic-style meals to older adults in our community, bringing a warm meal and a friendly face right to their doorstep.

This is a great opportunity for individuals or small groups who want to give back and make someone’s day—especially for those who may be spending the holiday alone.

Make a Difference by Providing Friendly Rides!

Being lonely and isolated creates more barriers than some may know or understand – one significant barrier being transportation. Many elderly friends need a helping hand to get to essential places like the post office, bank, grocery store, or even just to pick up a favorite snack. By signing up as a Friendly Ride volunteer, you can help eliminate this barrier and make a meaningful impact on someone's life.

How It Works:

Request Process: Elderly friends call LBFE to request a ride for their needs.
Notification: Based on your availability in your volunteer profile, we'll send you an email to check if you’re available to help.
Coordination: If you’re available, LBFE will connect you with the elderly friend to coordinate pickup details.

Responsibilities:
-Provide safe and reliable transportation to elderly friends for their errands and appointments.
-Offer friendly companionship and support during the rides.
-Coordinate pickup and drop-off details directly with the elderly friend.

Requirements:
-Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Looking for a simple way to make a difference? We need a volunteer to take home some tablecloths and light laundry from our events, give them a wash, and return them clean and ready for next time.

Drive the LBFE Van 

Want to help but prefer not to use your own car? Volunteers have the option to drive our LBFE mini-van or wheelchair-accessible van to transport elders to and from events. Drivers are fully insured and covered by LBFE.
